Pre-extraction#
Taking advantage of the Saturday off, I went to the clinic at 8:30 in the morning. When I arrived, it was still before 9 o'clock, and two doctors were still receiving patients. I waited for a while, and then a female doctor attended to me this time. The male doctor from last time was still attending to other patients. The tooth extraction process was similar to last time. First, a quick examination, then touching the teeth in different positions to see where the pain was coming from. Then, an X-ray was taken to determine if extraction was possible. After confirming that it was possible, the price was quoted. The cost this time was 235 yuan.
Tooth Extraction#
The bed frame was adjusted to an angle of nearly 90 degrees, and my head turned towards the doctor. I opened my mouth and breathed through my nose, trying to relax. The doctor injected anesthesia with a needle, and after a while, they would ask if I was numb. Once numb, they would start using tools to pry and remove the tooth. They pried from the inside and outside, and when I heard a sound of bone breaking, the tooth was almost out. Then the doctor would ask me not to move, and they would use a different clamp to remove the tooth. After that, they would continue to ask me not to move and start placing hemostatic cotton in my mouth. Then they would tell me to bite down. Once I bit down, the tooth extraction process was over. I looked at the tooth and realized that half of it was rotten. It was quite scary.
Then I went out with the doctor to pay the fee. After paying, I originally wanted to take the tooth with me since I didn't take any photos of the previous extraction. But the diligent nurse had already thrown away the extracted tooth...

Going Home#
After biting down on the hemostatic cotton for 30 minutes, I could spit it out. The time shouldn't be too long or too short. Then I just waited for recovery. This time it felt more painful than last time, probably because more anesthesia was injected last time.
September 4th Update#
After dinner at 19:00 that evening, I realized why it was so painful after this tooth extraction. I didn't spit out all the hemostatic cotton and kept it in my mouth all day...
Then I used the other end of the dental floss to hook out the remaining hemostatic cotton. Fortunately, there was no bleeding...
Then I searched on Baidu to see what happens if you forget to spit out the hemostatic cotton. Bacterial infection, dry socket... I think I'll go directly to the clinic tomorrow morning and let the dentist take a look at me again...
September 5th Update#
After having breakfast this morning, I went to the clinic. The doctor took a look and said everything was fine. I felt relieved.
